Exploring the role of regional innovation systems and institutions in global innovation networks
Abstract: Using firm-level data collected through a survey and case
studies in 2009-2010, this article systematically compares the patterns of
globalization of innovation in regions with different institutional
thickness. The paper shows that these patterns differ substantially across
regions and discusses relationship between regions, institutional
frameworks and different forms of globalization of innovation.
