Abstract: : In this paper, we analyse the mobility of construction services across different regional markets in Denmark. Although the markets appear to be segmented – both in terms of production and price changes – we show that a considerable amount of trade is taking place between regions. This is done through the use of unique Danish data that allow us to estimate the extent and character of this interregional trade. Furthermore, we analyse the characteristics of the individuals and firms exporting these services. It turns out that the level of export is particularly high in the Western part of Denmark. In addition, it appears to be the most productive individuals in the most productive – or the most specialised – firms who export the most. Finally, we find no evidence of distortionary effects of the existing tax subsidies to this export.
